How things are, it will probably be too much money wasted to hear for the umpteenth time about all the «advantages» that AI brings to the translation world...

None planned. May 31

The reason is self-explanatory: they are useful, but way too expensive.

None planned, but I have been to a festival May 31

It was really only for speakers of Danish, but I really enjoyed Sprogense, the Danish language festival.

It does not specifically target translators, although they were represented. It is a celebration of the Danish language for everyone - children, teachers, language professionals, everyone concerned with language in culture and industry...

Danish Sign Language, dyslexia and learning difficulties, the whole spectrum.

I have been four times, and there are always several lectures or events I do not have time for!

Of course, AI was mentioned, but the main focus was on real people and the living language, historically and in the future.

I am taking this to mean "language industry related conference" May 31

And that is a no.
I'm starting full time teaching in August (and essentially leaving translation), so I am unlikely to do translation-related networking or professional development ever again.

I believe I have attended several conferences in my working life time, including the FIT conferencces in Berlin, Germany, and in Varadero, Cuba back in 2022.

Join? Attend, surely. Jun 1

No, I wouldn't know how to join a conference. (-: What does that mean... does it mean that you're a speaker or one of the organizers?

I've only ever attended one, and that was because I won a free ticket in a raffle. I've looked into attending a few conferences, but for me the travel and accommodation costs are the main killers. The cost of the typical 3-day conference approaches the amount that my wife and I spend on a 2-week holiday, so it just feels like a waste of money. (The tax deduction for conference costs saves only about 30%.)
