is to to do their job with accuracy, completeness, using proper terminology and clear, unambiguous style.
If a translator feels unsuited for a project, saying "no" is always an option.
That piece of advice is valid for everything they translate.

One has to have a strong sense in the subject matter he is translating. Without such a sense, technical guidelines won't work or can even be misleading.
