Hello all,

It has come to my attention that long-time member Rolf Kern has passed away. For those in the German to English and French to German communities, you have no doubt seen him around the term help section, and he has long been on the leaderboards for both pairs, http://www.proz.com/?sp=leaders_new , as well as having made many contributions in the forums. He will be missed.

Although I have never met Rolf personally, I respected and admired him for still being involved into KudoZ discussions despite of his high age of more than 80 years. Translators of his caliber will be missed in the future.

Indeed, I did not know that Sep 21, 2016

He was a very correct man, always polite and insisting on good behavior. Many constructive contributions.

Traurige Nachricht Sep 21, 2016

Rolf Kerns Beiträge waren immer von einer immensen Hochachtung vor der Sprache getragen. Leider habe ich ihn nicht gekannt; geschätzt dagegen sehr.
Mein herzliches Beileid seinen Angehörigen.

Some years ago I remember another Proz member passing away and I tried to start a place to donate TM Sep 22, 2016

It should be in a personalized way so that the next generation of translators could know who was the author of the TM.
Otherways, this very valuable asset to mankind will probably fade away.

No, don´t tell me I am a bad person for posting this.

It is just the opposite. I want that people that passed away to be remember and recognize for their work and effort in an intelligent and logic way.

I remembered that I even gave a name to this project: TMinmemoriam.com
I had this domain for a couple of years.

I dropped it off, like many other projects at that time.
I hope somebody takes it back and relaunch it.

Or maybe it is already in place and I am not aware of it.
