I start to get withdrawal symptoms if I can't get online!

Not completely, but... Jun 16, 2011

I'm probably more of a Google-aholic. The rest of the net doesn't attract me that much, but I'm hooked on being able to find an answer to just about any question that pops into my mind - work related or not.

I'm curious by nature, so you can see how it might be a problem!

Am not a fan of the slipshod "-aholic" portmanteau, or bandying often woolly concepts like "addict/ion" about willy-nilly.

I use internet a lot, mainly in my work, but also for communication and leisure purposes.

So sue me.

Reading the press, anything related to work (contacts with clients, searching and documenting a subject, receiving and sending files), keeping in touch with friends and several family members, booking trips, watching some TV programmes and playing a game or 2, checking the place and time of the next walk, film, concert or other event I will attend, looking for a recipe, I do it all over the Internet... My connection is my navel string to the outside world, Internet is the interface.

I try to stay as far away from PC as possible Jun 16, 2011

And try to communicate face to face with friends as possible ...
One of them always says that outside world can stimulate her passion for work.

No and hope will never be... Jun 16, 2011

I use internet a lot when it is work related. Except from that, like John, I use google a lot to see if a book has been published (I love books))) and to read the news.
It's a extraordinary tool but I'm not really the virtual kind of person, so it kind of bore me when I'm too much on Internet. My boyfriend on the other hand cannot live without it !

No, and never will be Jun 16, 2011

The Internet is great to work with, to communicate with friends, to reseach whatever might be needed, however, it is far from being my "life".

I only spend as much time on the net as is needed to get things done, then log off. There's too much to do, e. g. continuing with my writings, socializing in the real world etc., and to see for me to ever become addicted to the net.

No, Internet is a great tool, but after work I switch my computer off, and I prefer talking on the phone. This morning for instance I have called my cousin and he said, well I'll call you on skype, ok, but being hooked on the chair, instead of on my balcony was not so pleasant.

I surf the net only when I something draws my attention and I do not use the so called social networks.

I agree with neilmac. Anything-oholic to me implies lack of control and slavery. I wouldn't describe my relationship to the internet that way, even though I'm online all day and even spend a healthy amount of time bantering with my pals on Facebook.

I must admit that I stay in touch and always reply quickly on the smart phone to any inquiry, and keep in touch in case I'm needed by any client.

Although sometimes I enjoy brief periods of total freedom and make the most of it

overall I don't mind but I do try to strike a healthy balance between keeping in touch with clients and friends, and having some time when you can forget everything...

I do make a real effort not to be online too much, but it seems to get the best of me...;)
