Dutch term

doorgeefregeling

Dutch to English Bus/Financial Real Estate
This term is mentioned in my source text along with "meeneemregeling".
Meenemen = oude hyp meenemen naar nieuwe woning
Doorgeven = oude hyp doorgeven aan koper van oude woning
There was a previous discussion about "meeneemregeling"on here http://www.proz.com/kudoz/dutch_to_english/finance_general/2... which resulted in "transferable mortgage arrangement", but in conjunction with "doorgeefregeling" that becomes more difficult as arguably the latter involves a type of transfer as well.

Would really appreciate any thoughts on this!

(mortgage) transfer vs. porting arrangement

vs. meeneemregeling > portable (take-it-with-you) arrangement.

I'm unsure the last ProZ answer was right. There is a difference between a same-mortgagor 'portable' mortgage and one transferable or 'one with equity of redemption assignable' to a new buyer.

NB tacking of mortgage advances in EN law: mortgage advances to the same borrower and over the *same* property can be added together and move up to a higher priority.

consolidation of advances: mortgages over *different* properties, but to the same mortgagor/mortgage borrower can be aggregated and again move up in priority as a composite loan.

Thanks. Trouble is equating a self-portable mortgage to one transferable to a third party can have serious - and in one reported EN land law case: disastrous - consequences

Portable mortgage scheme
The portable mortgage scheme means that you may transfer the interest rate that applies to the fixed-rate component of your old loan to your new loan. You can read more about this in the conditions or consult your adviser about this.

PS. Refer also to p. 27 of this document for a more detailed explanation and note the use of the terms loan component and composition (of your old mortgage). See your other KudoZ questions (leningdeel / samenstelling).

Note from asker:
Transfer arrangement vs. porting arrangement, of transferable mortgage scheme vs. portable mortgage scheme. Allebei prima opties lijkt me. Dat document is enorm handig, dank je! Ga er meteen eens uitgebreider naar kijken.
