discolored and stained soils
Soils that are discolored and stained are soils that contain an abundance of a substance that is not naturally occurring in the soil and as a result has altered the coloring of the soil. These visible signs of distress are usual a strong indicator of contamination in the soil.
Stained soil is a clue that contaminant problems may lie below. Deep below.

A property reconnaissance visit of the subject property was not conducted for this Limited Phase I ESA.
4.2 Observations and Improvements Based on Aerial and Street Photography
The subject property is undeveloped and has been used as agricultural land since at least 1950.
Some oil and gas exploration has occurred along the western portion of the subject property.
4.3 Pits, Ponds, and Lagoons
Based on recent aerial photography, no pits, ponds, or lagoons appear to be located on the subject property.
4.4 Stained Soils
Based on recent aerial photography, no visible stained soils appear to be located on the majority of the subject property. A produced water release that occurred on the western portion of the subject property appears to have impacted the soil in that area.
4.5 Stressed Vegetation
Based on recent aerial photography, no signs of stressed vegetation appear to be located on the majority of the subject property. A produced water release that occurred on the western portion of the subject property appears to have impacted the soil in that area and may impact crop growth in that area.
