English term

Current through P.L. 111-67, enacted September 30, 2009

English to French Law/Patents Law (general) American law
I have to translate an american an Act

This phrase is on the title page.

I know that enacted = promulguée
I understand that current refers to its update/latest amendment

But I don't understand the reference to P.L. 111-67

Many thanks for your help!

ph-b (X) Feb 27, 2017:
@Daryo The full title of this Act is :
The Defense Production Act of 1950 as amended
[50 U.S.C. App. § 2061 et seq.]
Current through P.L. 111-67, enacted September 30, 2009

Which I translate into :
Daryo Feb 27, 2017:
@ Asker what comes before "... current through"?

could you give the FULL name for this law or these legal provisions?

I have made the assumption here that this is about a piece of enabling legislation - I could be so only medium CL

SORRY, typo

should be "promulgée"

agree Daryo : that's the idea! )

thanks D
neutral ph-b (X) : It's promulguée, for starters. Your 'answer', incl. the meaning of LP, was suggested as a comment to FV's answer and in the discussion box hours ago. Why not delete your 'disagree' to FV's answer? Is fair play no longer an Eng. word ?

because her answer does not in my opinion deal with the notion of 'current through' which strongly suggests we are in the realm of enabling legislation here

On peut préciser "loi publique".

effectivement:

current = en vigueur

through = dans le cadre de, etc.
Note from asker:
Donc P.L signifie loi?
Peer comment(s):

agree ph-b (X) : P.L.

merci :-)
disagree AllegroTrans : I cannot see how "en vertu de" is a translation of "current through"; I may be wrong but it sounds like we are dealing with enabling legislation here

dans le sens de "régi actuellement..."?
disagree Daryo : You seem to be cheerfully ignoring the "current through" bit, and I have the nagging feeling that that bit gives a different twist to the whole title!
