My answer was influenced by a book I'm currently reading - The Joy of Yiddish by Leo Rosten. In it he discusses, among other things, how modern English is influenced by Yiddish and uses a phrase "I should have such luck" as an example.

`I wish I were living the life!'
Подразумевая, что не сложилось ;)
Note from asker:
вообщето на оборот - все сложилось - погулял по Киеву, зашел в ресторан "Цимес", где цены "умеренные" и вкусил салатик с куриными котлетками, фаршированной шейкой, телячьми мозками и пожелал себе вечного кайфа |

"High Life" Salad
Sounds a bit more natural to me!

спасибо - это уже ближе |

Wishing for a good life
Некоторая идиоматичность оригинала сохраняется, по-моему, так как среди евреев принято говорить за столом молитву (перед тем, как вкусить пищу), а общее значение молитвы - именно просьба о лучшей жизни, здоровье и т.д. ИМХО, конечно.

Salad "Living Large" or livin' large
My two cents.
Note from asker:
thank you - I finished this project already but I like your variant - you know that the Russians/Ukrainians like to give the names to their dishes using proverbs, sayings, that have cultural connotative shade and quite often the foreigners do not understand this |
