Italian term

fornitura

Italian to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Grazie, Enea

Jun 26, 2009 13:33: HATEM EL HADARY changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (3): Oliver Lawrence, Fran Cesca, HATEM EL HADARY

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

dispensing

I'm not highly confident about this, but from what I remember about working on information systems for substance misuse treatment centres (which involves dolling out things like methadone for the service users/clients/patients), prescription is what the care professional decides the patient needs and dispensing is the process of physically giving them the drug via a pharmacist. You will be better placed than I to tell which of these processes is being referred to in your text. HTH, anyway.
Peer comment(s):

agree Enea Slavic : Thank you, I think this is correct. Do you think that dispensing system could be correct? it is referred to the national sanitary system and not on the sole prescription.

thanks, in that case I might go with 'national distribution system' instead

grazie e buon we
agree Enea Slavic : il regime di fornitura fa riferimento al rapporto tra il farmaco e il sistema sanitario nazionale, la prescrizione è più a livello di ricetta tra medico e paziente. Grazie comunque - Enea

supply

In my understanding, this is not about supplying medicines to the patient, but supplying medicines from the distributor to the pharmacy. But I could be wrong....

"Prescription" would be "Prescrizione"- no?
Peer comment(s):

neutral Fran Cesca : Se vedi il mio allegato parla di *regime di fornitura* intesa come *prescrizione*
