A little boy who accompanies Dorothy and the Shaggy Man on their adventures in the Land of Oz. They find him lost on the road while they are hunting for Butterfield. He has blue eyes, pretty curls, a chubby round face, and always wears a sailor suit. Button-Bright appears to be 2 or 3 years younger than Dorothy. To almost every question his answer is "Don`t know," or similar such words. In the adventure recounted in Sky Island, we learn he comes from Philadelphia and his real name is Saladin Paracelsus de Lambertine Evagne von Smith.

"Bright as a button" is the British version of CUTE AS A BUTTON which means "cute, charming, attractive, almost always with the connotation of being small, 1868 (from the original 1731 English meaning of 'acute' or clever). Cute as a bug's ear, 1930; cute as a bug in a rug, 1942; cute as a button, 1946. Cute and keen were two of the most overused slang words of the late 1920s and 1930s." "Bright as a button" also makes sense as if you think of a polished brass button. The phrase is really only ever used of small people - you'd say that a child, or maybe a small dog, was as bright as a button, but you'd never say it of a six-foot man. So the image is of a small sparky thing."
Ево три разлога зашто, ипак ad-hoc, предлажем реч "кликераш":
1. Код нас је уобичајен идиоматски израз за некога ко je "Bright as a button", da "има кликере", тј. каже се да је "кликераш";
2. Кликери су дечја играчка и мали су, па су зато примеренији као атрибут детету него одраслој особи;
3. И "Button-Bright" и "кликераш" су хуморни колоквијализми.
Поред овога, усуђујем се и да вам понудим као други избор реч: "зврк" или "зврчак". Има особине некога ко је "као зврк", такође мала дечја играчка. Као алтернативни избор га нудим зато што особине некога ко је "као зврк" нису само окретност, него и брзо схватање и реаговање, дакле подразумевају и социјалну и практичну интелигенцију.
Наравно, пошто је реч о превођењу књижевног термина, превод је, нужно, слободнији и у духу српког језика и културе. У Стеријино време такве су преводе звали "посрба"...

Управо ми је пала на памет варијанта која ми се чини најсимпатичнијом за потребе оваквог превода - "КЛИКЕР", као надимак... Мало је, симпатично и поред оштроумности асоцира у исто време и на дечји узраст и заиграност. ..
