Global ranking reveals Kapsch’s electronic tolling dominance and the fight for second place to provide solutions to road operators
PTOLEMUS Consulting Group has announced the results of the Electronic Toll Collection Global Supplier Rankings, with integrators Kapsch, Autostrade and Sanef strong across the global market, while automotive suppliers such as Continental and Magneti Marelli lead on satellite technology.
Following the 650-page Road Charging Global Study, published earlier this year, PTOLEMUS Consulting Group has released its ranking of ETC suppliers. The first independent evaluation of e-tolling suppliers worldwide.
Companies were assessed across 3 distinct groups: systems integrators, technology suppliers and service providers. Full details of the results can be downloaded here.
Kapsch TrafficCom was found to be the number 1 global systems integrator with Autostrade per l’Italia and Sanef ITS completing the top 3. Kapsch was also ranked first in Europe, Asia and the Americas, aided by its experience of integrating multiple tolling models, protocols and technologies.
Autostrade per l’Italia, Sanef ITS, EFKON and Q-Free ranked highly in the European systems market thanks to their experience in DSRC and ANPR integration. If they are able to build on the successful delivery of GNSS-based systems in Slovakia, Germany and Belgium, Siemens and T-Systems could feature highly in the future.
