I am a professional translation and language specialist from Tampere, Finland. I studied at the University of Tampere, and have a master's degree in English and German translation and interpreting, and I minored in Finnish and technical communications. I have also gone to school and studied in the US. I have a professional history of translation work in a translation agency for 20 years, and have now been an entrepreneur since December 2012. My company Käännöstoimisto Särkkä (Särkkä Translation Agency) is an active and flexible one-woman business specialising in translation from English and German into Finnish, and from Finnish into English. My specialties include technical texts, user instructions and brochures, ranging from the automobile to the mining industry and everything in between from small household appliances to printing and copying machines. Other specialties include marketing, web sites, training material, medical instruments, the pharmacological industry, financial texts and contracts, tourism, hotels and restaurants. I also proofread and edit Finnish texts, and have worked as an evaluator of subcontractor applicants' test translation in my former positions.
