English term or phrase: Modified duties.
I would like to know the best translation of this phrase from Mexican Spanish into American English.

Colleagues from Spain, feel free to send me your suggestions as well.

It's a translation of a legal deposition done to someone by a lady from Mexico. This was done for an American attorney and a witness from this country. She was working as a cook in a restaurant in California.

This is for Latin People living in The United States and Americans readers. Is it okay to translate it as funciones modificadas?

Here is the full paragraph:

Attorney: Were you hired in the same job in that same restaurant but this time they gave you modified duties?

Witness from Mexico:

Si señor abogado, yo fui contratada otra vez en este mismo restaurante pero estaba haciendo actividades más livianas.

La razón es que el doctor del estado me dijo que no podía cargar objetos muy pesados. Yo tenía que estar parada por mucho tiempo cuando cocinaba pero el trabajo no era tan pesado como fue antes.

Spanish translation:diferentes tareas
Explanation:
I believe the attorney wants to make sure why the employee was hired again with different duties to do and if there is any inconsistency with wages.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks for your help Freddy. I appreciate it. The Mexican lady is doing light work in this restaurant because she is sick, and she is receiving something called workers compensation benefits. This is given to workers who were injured while they were working here in The United States.
