Peak is usually used in baking when you whip up egg whites and whip cream. It has to do with soft, medium and hard peak. meaning how stiff the cream is and if it stands up.

The above answer is almost correct. Whip until you can stick the beater straight down into the bowl and when flipped over, the peak will fall over on itself. A stiff peak will stand straight up to a point without falling over.

The difference can happen in less than 30 seconds, so be careful.

Ooo, I hate doing this, but i do know how to. I've used this many times when making merang (horrible spelling) for lemon merang pie. For the merang, you take sugar and egg hites, and beat them on high ith an electric mixer for a VERY long time. It'll start to get thicker, but you aren't done yet. You whip until pointy peaks form in the bowl, and STAY STILL, when you lift the mixer out of the bowl. However, it might be different from what you are hipping, ingredient wise. It's all the same meaning though. Hope that helps!

It means to beat the cream until when you pull the beaters out of the cream it makes a little curved peak...like a little point at the top.

when you lift the whisk or beater out of the bowl, and turn it upside down, the cream on top should stay standing up. The difference between a soft peak and a stiff one is how high it stands.

Whipping It Till It Stands Straight Up On The Beater!

It means that you have to whip your cream untill it forms soft peaks and they stand up by themselves.

When you pull the beaters out it makes a Small peak. Make sure it not too stiff."
