Gotta start praying | Jul 6, 2023 |
I always check the alternatives and never find anything I like. DV 3 is still the fastest, easiest and only one that works really well with Dragon Speaking. I hope it will continue working while we wait for version 4, and that version 4 will keep it's virtues without adding problems. Keep posting the news pearls!

As far as I am concerned, the latest version of memoQ is pretty damned amazing these days. I occasionally open DVX and have a look, but it's not nearly as useful as memoQ, iyam. Also, and I don't know when this started, but memoQ now has full Dragon Select & Say functionality, with Dragon Professional 16. That is, you can select words/phrases in the grid by voice and perform actions on them.
, Micheal. That is very good news. A reason to check MemoQ again. I was a user years ago.

MemoQ is an actively developed CAT tool, unlike DJV. But... MemoQ uses a subscription model and they ask for payment every year. That is not true of DJV and you can still pay for Trados only once per major version. And the most absurd of all: if you stop paying for MemoQ for a couple of years, they will ask that you pay for all those years you skipped before you can start using the CAT tool again. What?! And that is the reason why I have paid for MemoQ but ... See more MemoQ is an actively developed CAT tool, unlike DJV. But... MemoQ uses a subscription model and they ask for payment every year. What?! You get much better value for money with CafeTran, whose tagging system will be familiar to DVU users.
