Bio
As a senior project manager in a Top 20 localization company, I actually have stopped doing translation myself since several years ago, except for important tests from new clients. But some of my recent projects make me feel like to start acting as a translator again - I outsource those projects to some famous translation companies in China, but none of them can deliver a satisfiable quality. Each time I have to do extensive reveiw myself! I just cannot help thinking of creating a translation team of my own on seeing such bad quality translations...
Something about my translation/L10n related background:
English major, 4 years as university English teacher, professional translator and Microsoft Certified System Engineer since 2000. Experienced in translating between Chinese and English in the following fields:
PC (software and hardware);
Telecommunication;
Business communication;
Legal docmuents;
Marketing materials;
Games;
Also
Financial materials;
Consumer Electronics;
Mathematics;
Tourism;
I'm also good at solving L10n related CAT/DTP problems.
