Prioritizing research areas
как заголовок. Или даже "Prioritizing research opportunities".
Я так понимаю, что все эти направления будут распределены по приоритетам в любом случае - раз уж они пытаются определить их актуальность и современность, то и расставят по полочкам как-то. Или "Classification of research areas", но этот вариант мне не совсем нравится, пока не пойму, чем именно. Может, делением на классы, а не на приоритеты...
А в тексте уже легче будет и с актуальностью, и с современностью - больше возможностей для маневра, чем в заголовке.
Такие вот мысли...
