has no record of compromising connections

OR: with no compromising connections on his record

agree Vladimir Dubisskiy : i'd say 'contacts' not 'connections'

okay with me; thanx. I meant it rather as in "well connected"
agree Libero_Lang_Lab : the latter version is better marfus... but simply 'on record' or 'on file' maybe rather than on his record

Great! Thanks! What an opportunity to remind you about a day-old question of mine you've completely misread: go to http://www.proz.com/kudoz/261047, I begya man, I tried to make xactly the same point as in your comment above
agree Jack Doughty : Is the Russian grammatically correct? I would have thought it would be "в связях прочащих его замечено не было".

Let’s reshuffle the source to make the syntax more lucid: [он] не был замечен в порочащих его связях. (No offense, Sir —your Russian's brilliant & you're a formidable pro, but “в связях порочащих его замечено не было” sounds very funny indeed to a native
