Russian to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting

Serge Driamov Feb 13, 2009:

Natasha P Feb 13, 2009:

Vassyl Trylis Feb 13, 2009:

Perhaps 'hymner' (one who sings the praises) sounds too religious?

Perhaps, if "celebrators" sound too much like revellers, partygoers, you could say "others who have celebrated (the city of) St Petersburg".

others who have celebrated the beauty of St. Petersburg

Apparently, Boris Nikolaev's a painter, so "singer" and "glorify" (doesn't it have the connotation "to exaggerate"?) seemingly don't fit here. "Celebrate" seems to be the most fitting option. "...so much different from that of others who have celebrated the beauty of St. Petersburg..."
