ドブ means in english ditch, drain, gutter or gap. I tried all combinations with printing, and had atleast some hits for printing gap, so this could be the word.

This is a desktop publishing term. I would use "offset" in this case. I was able to find a Japanese definition of the term here:

This document says that "dob" is another way of referring to "裁ち落とし". Another cached web page I found also had the same reference, of ccording to another cached web page I found, of 裁ち落とし = ドブ.裁ち落とし is usually translated as "offset."
