Rome - Roman Forum
The first stop on a walking itinerary offered by a religious tour agency in Rome. I don't think pilgrims are taken there by bus, but I could be wrong. I'll contact the client on this Monday morning, but meanwhile, since I have to turn this in then, does anyone know what this could be?
The stops are numbered:
"E.1 Discesa ingresso via dei Fori Imperiali
E.2 La Basilica Fulvia-Emilia
E.3 La Piazza centrale del Foro
...etc."
Descended entrance at via dei Fori Romani?
Descend into the entrance, etc?
Thanks,
Peter

Sloping entrance
This is obviously an entrance which is not on a straight level. This is what one of these entrances in this complex is called in this website.:
"As you walk down the sloping entrance road, on your left is a medieval church grafted onto and above the Temple of Antonius & Faustina, the eight columns still standing free of the church fabric at the top of some steps (it was built in AD 141 by Antonius Pius in honor of his late wife, Faustina)."

Bus stops at entrance to Roman Forum
Perhaps I'm sticking my neck out but I suspect it IS a bus tour

: it'd be useful to know the name of the organiser, but I confirm that YES there are multicoloured buses in Rome (other than the ordinary city service) that bring tourists around, stop at certain spots for PEDESTRIAN TOURS/WALKS & then let them re-jump on.

: You may be right. But wouldn't it be "fermata" rather than "discesa"?

It should probably be but you also hear discesa used to mean where you get off as opposed to where the bus stops.

slope at the (Forum) entrance on via dei Fori Romani
I imagine this refers to the main Forum entrance. It's fine to say this is a slope, whether upwards or downwards can be left out.
But check with them, because the Rome city map gives no "via dei Fori Romani" - only "via dei Fori Imperiali" and most sites give the entrance to the Roman Forum from Via dei Fori Imperiali

downhill road leading to the entrance to the Roman Forum
It's an ancient cobbled road. I've been there many times.
