This is from a 'relazione trasfusionale' for a patient who has undergone TAVI. It simply says:
Reparto richiedente: CARDIOL INTERVENT - DEGENZA MISTA
Is this something like an 'interdepartmental admission' or something? It's not anything to do with the ward being mixed (gender) is it? I'm *sure* it can't be...!

Paul Wood is a mixed cardiology and cardiac surgery unit, which is dedicated to the care of patients with adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) and for patients undergoing investigations and treatments for other cardiac related diseases.
Life on the wards
Each bay is single-sex, so you will only be in a room with people of the same sex as yourself. The high dependency unit is a mixed sex ward. However, a nurse is always present and every effort is made to ensure that privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
The bathroom and toilet facilities are labelled as being for male or female use.
