Italian to English Other Architecture fifteenth century building techniques

In base all’analisi tecnica precedente il restauro la struttura muraria dell’edificio è risultata costituita da pietra naturale, mattoni in cotto (per minima parte) e un allettamento a base di calce nel quale sono stati rilevati calcinelli (cioè grumi di calce non spenta), indizio di una cottura artigianale non omogenea del carbonato di calcio

This is from a text on the restoration of a mid-fifteenth century building. I believe that these are lumps of non hydraulic lime? But I can't find a name for them in English.

Any help much appreciated.
