German term

der Trend zum edlen Tropfen

German to English Marketing Wine / Oenology / Viticulture
The phrase comes up a number of times in analyses of the wine trade. It's obvious what it means, but I'm at a bit of a loss for a catchy equivalent in English.

fine wines

Perhaps it's not as catchy or idiomatic as the German, but I would use the expression "fine wines" here.

How about \"(New found) Customer demand for fine wines\"? (This is an alternative to Norbert\'s phrasing of the first part of the sentence.)

I would probably use a range of different ways to express this, depending on how it fits into the sentence/context:

... customers increasingly choosing fine/superior wines
.. growing preference for fine/superior wines
... growing customer demand
