If it is indeed a newsletter, why not say so? Other than that, I'd go with your choices of internal/in-house medium.

I'd also (like yourself) have suggested "medium of communication".
That said "platform" may be misleading, unless you write "platform for internal communication" ...
Of course, "newsletter" in itself is fine, unless you really need an alternative way of referring to it.
