***Embedded contractor***
Contractor or contractor agency that is resident at a COMPANY site. Embedded contractors have onsite management, and due to the nature of their work, has a thorough understanding of the COMPANY facilities infrastructure and works in concert with COMPANY management.

***Non-embedded contractor***
Contractor or contractor agency that is transient to COMPANY sites and usually performs work for a well described project. They may have onsite management, but typically will be managed remotely. They receive work direction from COMPANY project managers or embedded contractors, and may not thoroughly understand COMPANY infrastructure systems.
